Course Background:

Emergency First Response is recognised by Pre-Hospital Emergency Care Council (PHECC) at Responder level 3. It provides participants with the basic life skills needed to deal with emergency situations before any hospital care has taken place.

  • Oropharyngeal Airways
  • O2 Administration
  • Vacuum Splints
  • Collars/Spinal Boards
  • Helmet Removal
  • Medications

 

Learning Outcomes:

Upon successful completion of this course participants will gain the skills and knowledge necessary to:

  • Explain the role of PHECC
  • Explain the chain of survival and demonstrating adult and child CPR
  • Demonstrate the correct administration of oxygen
  • Explain the steps required in dealing with a stroke and heart attack

 

This Course is Designed For:

Any individual hoping to attend a practitioner level course on the pre-hospital emergency care framework.


 

Training Methodology:

This course is classroom based; it is highly interactive with role-playing and practical exercises to reinforce understanding and learning.


 

Duration & Participants:

A maximum of 10 people over 40 hours (5 days)


 

Certification:

Upon successful completion of this course participants will receive a PHECC, Responder Level 3 certificate.



 

Emergency First Response Review:

 

This 40 hour, fully certified Emergency First Response course teaches emergency childbirth, oropharyngeal airways, oxygen administration, vacuum splints, collars, spinal boards, helmet removal, medications and all the basic life support skills for victims of stroke, cardiac arrest, heart attack, chocking and legal issues.

 

Emergency First Response is a great course for anyone hoping to attend a practitioner level course on the pre-hospital emergency care framework. It is also a great stand-alone course for persons operating in a first responder role, who require more than the more basic occupational first aid or those planning to pursue a career in emergency care.

 

To attend an Emergency First Response course, participants must have a valid, in-date, Cardiac First Responder (CFR) OR Occupational First Aid (OFA) certification prior to commencing this course.
