Asbestos Awareness
Why is asbestos awareness so important, who needs to know about asbestos awareness? Asbestos awareness is vitally important for people who may come into contact with asbestos because of the serious health effects it can have. Poor asbestos awareness can lead to employees not being able to identify what asbestos is or what asbestos looks like, therefore putting their health at risk. Asbestos awareness is covered by the Safety Health and Welfare at Work (Exposure to Asbestos) Regulations 2006 and if you or your employees think you may come into contact with asbestos you require to be made aware of the health effects it has and how it should be managed.

Asbestos Awareness Training
Who is required to attend asbestos awareness training? If you are working in the construction industry dealing with buildings that were built prior to 2000, working with ships/ boats, vintage cars among many more industries, or if you think you may come into contact with asbestos then you must attend asbestos awareness training. One of the objectives of any asbestos awareness training course is to help increase awareness of the presence of asbestos and inform employees where it might be and what it looks like. It is very important if you think you may come into contact with asbestos that you are aware of the types of products or materials likely to contain asbestos thus the importance of attending asbestos awareness training. It is important that you attend asbestos awareness training courses if you work with or may come into contact with asbestos. There are very specific procedures to follow when dealing with asbestos and how to manage it correctly which are covered during our asbestos awareness training courses.
